Cookie Policy
What this website stores in your browser, and what it does not.
In Short
This website does not set cookies. It does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking technologies, and it does not share or sell information about your visit. It stores two small items in your own browser so the chat assistant works, and it caches pages so parts of the site remain available if your connection drops.
Cookies
Meridian Premier Counsel, PLC does not place cookies on this website. Because no cookies are set, there is no cookie consent banner and nothing to accept or decline.
Browser Storage We Do Use
Two items are stored by your own browser rather than sent to us as cookies:
| Item | Purpose | Retained |
|---|---|---|
| mpc.miles.token | A random identifier so a chat conversation continues as you move between pages, and so the firm can see how many people are using the site and which pages they read. It identifies a browser, not a person, and contains no name, email, or other personal detail. | Until you clear your browser data |
| mpc.miles.open | Whether the chat panel was open, so it does not reopen or close unexpectedly as you navigate. | Until you close the tab |
Clearing your site data in your browser removes both. The site continues to work without them; a chat conversation simply will not carry over between pages.
Visitor Activity
So the firm can see when someone needs help and respond, this site records basic activity against the random browser identifier described above. That record is kept on the firm's own systems and is not shared with any analytics or advertising company.
What is recorded:
- The pages you visit and when
- The website or search engine you arrived from, where your browser supplies it
- Campaign tags in the link you followed, where present
- Whether you opened the chat assistant, and whether you started a conversation
- Whether you clicked through to the firm's booking page or the Prospect Data Form — the click only, never what you then enter on those pages
- Your browser's user-agent string, which is used to filter out automated crawlers
What is not recorded: your name, your email address, anything you type into a form, anything you say in the chat, and any identifier that would let the firm recognise you on another website. The firm uses no fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, none of this is recorded at all. No identifier is created and no activity is sent. Most browsers offer one of these in their privacy settings, and some privacy extensions send Global Privacy Control by default.
Anonymous activity records are routinely deleted after a short period. Records belonging to someone who went on to contact the firm are kept with that enquiry instead, under the firm's ordinary file-retention practice.
Offline Caching
This site registers a service worker that stores copies of pages, images, and styles in your browser's cache so it loads quickly and remains partly usable if your connection is interrupted. The cache holds public website content only. It never stores anything you type into a form, and it does not cache requests to the site's application interfaces.
What This Site Does Not Do
- No third-party analytics service — no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, and no similar product. Activity measurement is described above and stays on the firm's own systems.
- No advertising, remarketing, or conversion tracking
- No social media tracking pixels or embedded social widgets
- No embedded third-party video or map frames
- No sale or sharing of personal information
- No cross-site tracking of any kind
Services You May Be Sent To
Some links take you to services operated by others — consultation scheduling, online payments, the client portal, the prospect intake form, and the self-service document platform. Those are separate websites. Once you are on one, its operator's cookie and privacy practices apply, not ours, and we have no control over and no visibility into what it stores. Nothing on this site tracks you across to them.
Hosting
This website is delivered through a commercial hosting provider which, like any web host, processes the technical information needed to serve a page — such as the requesting IP address and browser type — and may retain short-term operational logs for security and reliability. That processing is a function of hosting rather than of any tracking we have placed on the site.
Changes
If this site later adds analytics, a consent tool, embedded media, or any other technology that stores information in your browser, this page will be updated to describe it. See also our Privacy Policy and Legal Disclaimer.
Questions about this policy can be sent to info@mpclawfirm.com or raised by telephone at 540-369-8004.
This policy describes the website's technical behaviour as implemented. It is not legal advice, and it should be reviewed by the firm before being relied upon as a compliance document.
